2005 Peter Lehmann Stonewell Shiraz

"ATTENTION" Anyone with ‘05 Peter Lehmann Stonewell Shiraz’ in their cellar should find an occasion to open them soon. I have discovered several times over recent months that this wine is developing early, almost prematurely. I personally am in awe of the characters found in aged wines. Less primal fruit, balanced or dissipating tannins and sometimes a spine of pronounced acidity. The Stonewell is already showing that in droves.
I had picked it as a wine with 10-15 years development in a recent blind tasting. The only clue that was out of place was the colour and secondary rims. It still had great depth and the rims were still very blurred. It goes to show that you can learn something everyday in the world of wine!!!!! You may have a window of maybe 2-3 years under careful cellaring for optimum enjoyment or 4-5 if you love a wine teetering on the edge of bliss or abandonment
