Dog Point Sauvignon Blanc 07

'Holy Crap' an 07 Sauvignon Blanc that isn't tired or bruised. I've had several 09 Sauvignon Blanc's that were all tinned asparagus and heavy over ripe fruit salad. The Dogpoint Sauvignon Blanc was youthful and the mouth feel and flavour profile were very Sancerre like in appearance. Mineral like and crisp without any pretension of fruit aroma's and simple fruit  flavours. Brought from a local bottle shop at a seriously reduced rate I'd thought that it would be worth the risk. At first smell and taste the youthfulness of the wine was a huge surprise and a constant reminder that all wines have the ability to hold or age at least in the short term. Auspiciously one as well made as Dog point 07 Sauvignon Blanc
